Given the overall objective of providing excellent educational opportunities to deserving students, the scholarships do not have any 'return-to-work' commitment from the sponsor, leaving the choice of future employment completely to the students.
Faculties at BUiD encourage original research in a range of areas that are vital to the wider development of the economy, and many which have specific relevance to the construction and development industry, including Project Management, Human Resources Management, Sustainable Design of the Built Environment and IT Management.
Saeed Al Qatami, Managing Director - UAE business, Deyaar, commented:
"Education is a key catalyst that drives the growth and development of a nation. At Deyaar, we firmly believe that, as a leading corporate house in the UAE, we have a major responsibility towards providing ample opportunities to groom UAE talent."
"The BUiD initiative is Deyaar's first post-graduate scholarship program and builds on its similar existing partnerships with American University in Dubai and Higher College of Technologies," he added.
"The agreement will provide necessary support for deserving students to pursue world class educational opportunities, as provided by the much acclaimed BUiD. We are proud to be associated with an initiative that will train and develop the next generation of business leaders across a range of industries," concluded Qatami
Executives at BUiD welcomed Deyaar Development's support of the scholarship programme, saying that it expanded educational possibilities within the UAE.
Dr. Abdullah Alshamsi, Vice-Chancellor of The British University in Dubai, said: "Support from far-sighted companies like Deyaar Development helps ensure that students have access to the full range of educational and research opportunities. In the long-run, the development of a qualified pool of professionals with Masters Degrees can only help stimulate social and economic growth."
BUiD continues to develop its educational partnerships with the University of Edinburgh, the University of Birmingham, the University of Manchester, Cardiff University and the Cass Business School at City University, London, to further enhance its research programmes.
