Al Diar Siji Hotel Fujairah, a 5-star business hotel at the heart of Fujairah, gladly received its HACCP certification following a series of staff trainings as well as improvements and upgrading in its food & beverage services, facilities and procedures.
"We are pleased to announce that our hotel is now HACCP certified. It is one of the most sought-after accreditations in the food service industry and this is just proof of our claim that we are committed to providing excellent service and world-class standards. We are proud to be one of the first 5-star hotels in UAE to be HACCP compliant," said Mr. Fouad Melhem, Al Diar Siji Hotel's General Manager.

The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System) Certification was awarded by BSI Management Systems (BSI), the global developer of standards and provider of international certification and assessment services.

HACCP is recognized worldwide to ensure guests' protection with regard to food and beverage.

"Al Diar Siji Hotel's bid for this certification was in line with our commitment in achieving the highest standard of food safety. We started implementing HACCP by establishing a pre-requisite program focusing on effective and auditable guidelines, polices, and procedures for the employees. Through this, we are able to monitor, control and verify the program. The pre-requisite program was followed by implementing the seven HACCP principles which also include seven stages. It took us about 6 months to establish and implement the whole system,"

explained Mr. Ghyath Fawaz, Al Diar Siji Hotel's F&B Manager and the hotel's HACCP team leader.

The certification is expected to boost the hotel's business resulting from improved supervisory skills of the staff, increased job satisfaction, and enhanced company image.

Al Diar Siji Hotel also received its BS EN ISO 9001:2000 certification for 2008, a reinstatement of its efficiency in terms of quality management systems which was first granted to the hotel in 2005.

"It is our goal at Al Diar Siji Hotel to always give our customers what is due them - excellent hospitality service and food & beverage at the highest quality,' asserted Mr. Melhem.
