Tabreed bags new award

Tabreed, the world's largest district cooling company, has scooped the Gold Award from the 8th Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award for the company's excellent performance and achievements for the year.

Receiving the accolade from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces are Thani Al Rumaithi, Tabreed Administration & Services Support Director and Khaled Salmeen Al Kawari, Tabreed Chief Operating Officer (COO).

"It is an honour to receive this award from the Abu Dhabi government as this encourages us to improve our performance in the future," said Kawari. "Tabreed is now the world's largest district cooling company and receiving this prestigious honour from the leading sector body is a validation of our success."

The Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards, introduced in 2000, have been designed to recognise the achievements of various organisations.

Earlier in 2007, Tabreed was honoured with the Global Partner award and its Chief Executive Officer, Dany Safi, scooped the Global Pioneer accolade from the US-based International District Energy Association (IDEA) - which works to advance global environmental quality through efficient district energy systems. IDEA also awarded the company with two international gold awards.
