City 7 TV races for the RAK International Half Marathon

Building on its success as the only English language channel to feature a host of international and local events: Gitex, Cityscape, Dubai International Fashion Week, DIFF, Hotelier Awards, Nancy Ajram Concert, to name a few; City 7 TV now pans into the richest half marathon race in the world.

"The RAK International half Marathon is a world class prestigious sporting event where world records have been broken. City 7 TV is proud to be associated with the event. The RAK International Half Marathon will showcase on televisions across the MENA region with many international sport networks and broadcasters across the globe playing out the action," commented Ron Kapadia, COO and Executive Director of City 7 TV.

Representing City 7 TV is 'In Gear' presenter Adam Ketchil, who will be running the 21.0975km race vying to clinch the prize and inspire his personal fitness principles.

"I am very competitive especially in the sports that I am into. My training includes running 5km everyday building up my strength and stamina. I am eyeing the full marathon next year. The half marathon will gauge how much training I will need for it," said Adam Ketchil.

City 7 TV's Inside Business host, Greg Fairlie and Sulaiman Bolarinwa will be providing the lead up to the event for the station's 45- minute highlights package. They will be reporting from the venue, interviewing the elite world class athletes as well as club runners taking up the challenge and those who are there for a fun day out. Greg along with the official commentators will take the viewers from the start to the finish line capturing sporting moments with the help of the crew assigned to each strategic location. This RAK International Half Marathon special will be telecasted on Friday at 9pm and repeated on Saturday at 8am and 9:30pm, UAE time on City 7 TV.

One more day to go before the event and City 7 TV is all geared up for the extensive reporting. Several cameramen headed yesterday to Ras Al Khaimah for the set up. The coverage will include exciting aerial shots in addition to the full excitement of the race as it progresses along the official course- bringing the viewers in-depth coverage of the record breaking event.

"The basic challenge of doing the RAK marathon is to cover the event for television, produce a comprehensive, entertaining local sports content segment and highlight RAK's commitment to this world event. For this specialized filming we have brought in special camera lenses to accurately cover the runners.
