The intensifying challenges facing governments in the Middle East and North Africa are ever changing, and the demand for highly advanced energy solutions is stronger than ever. 'We have consistently enhanced the show over the years, introducing specific focus areas such as water and lighting, to maximise its effectiveness,' added Woodbridge. 'Our strong industry links mean that we can deliver a platform that really contributes to the development of the region's energy capabilities, and we take this responsibility very seriously.'

A number of major multi-million dollar deals are expected to be announced during the event's four-day run, as is an all-time record attendance. 'Visitor pre-registration was especially strong this year,' added Woodbridge. 'We're expecting in excess of 35,000 trade visitors from more than 95 countries this year, a high proportion of whom are key decision makers.' Middle East Electricity 2008 covers 34,000 square metres, is 17% larger than last year and features over 900 exhibitors from 55 countries plus 20 country pavilions.

Middle East Electricity 2008, internationally recognised as the power behind the Middle East Energy industry, and rated by exhibitors and visitors as the world's leading event of its kind, is supported by the Federal Electricity and Water Authority and sponsored by C&S Controls and Switchgear, Clipsal, Eaton, Havells Sylvania, Jengan and Jubaili Brothers. The show runs from 10-13 February at Dubai International Exhibition Centre and is open from 10am to 6pm - admission is free for trade professionals.
