National Bank of Abu Dhabi expands with Dubai eGovernment pre-paid card success

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), one of the leading banks in the UAE, has announced its alliance with Redha Al Ansari Exchange Est a leading exchange house established since 1945, to issue its Dubai eGovernment Pre-paid card.

The agreement is the first of its kind in the UAE and offers instant issuance of the card at all Redha Al Ansari Exchange Est branches. The expansion is testament to the success NBAD is attaining with the DeG Pre-paid Visa card, which was previously only available from bank branches.

NBAD's DeG Pre-paid Visa card, offers a convenient alternative to cash and cheques, and is aimed at a variety of customers including the non-banked segment of the market making it an attractive option for low-salaried employees, retired persons and students.

Furthermore, visitors to the UAE can take advantage of discounts at 1,700 Dubai outlets and transactions free of conversion charges, making the DeG Pre-paid Visa card ideal for tourists.

Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment has welcomed the agreement saying it reflects the effectiveness of the partnership between the government and the private sector in encouraging individuals and businesses to adopt the Dubai eGovernment Pre-paid card, the secure electronic method of payment developed and launched as a fruit of partnership between Dubai eGovernment and NBAD.

'We are pleased to witness the emergence of this agreement which indicates that our alliance with the private sector is gaining new momentum' said Al Shair.

Access to funds on a DeG Pre-paid card is protected by the cardholder's signature once used at Redha Al Ansari Exchange Est outlets. In addition, cardholders can perform balance and transaction inquires through NBAD website enabling customers to track expenses and monitor card activity more easily and efficiently.

The card allows cardholders to better budget finances by limiting spending to the amount of funds that have been loaded to the card.
