New low for media freedom in Egypt, Yemen

The most recent freedom of opinion and expression report released by the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (HRInfo), finds that 2007 was the worst year for Egyptian media since Egyptian independence in 1952. The report examines the authorities' negligence of freedom of press laws, as well as the legislation used to incarcerate journalists, bloggers, and, for the first time, artists.
