Bernardo Nicoletti, Chief Information Officer of General Electric Oil & Gas, visited Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar to discus opportunities with the global organization.
Nicoletti, a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, spoke of GE’s mission to open more hubs worldwide in order to be closer to its customers.
Nicoletti says one focus area of GE’s expansion is Qatar, and in late 2009 the global leader will occupy space at the Qatar Science and Technology Park.
“Business Administration students can be valuable all over GE companies, and those with specific Computer Science skills excel in our leadership positions,” Nicoletti says. “Students with strengths in technology are beneficial to any organization, especially in this part of the world.”
As a Carnegie Mellon graduate, Nicoletti has been GE’s executive sponsor of Carnegie Mellon for three years. As the sponsor, his activity recruits students from Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh and he hopes to have the same relationship with students in Qatar.
