Students attend orientation at Sweihan campus

The campus is scheduled to be officially opened on the 18th of February by H.E Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research President of Zayed University.

The Sweihan campus was established in collaboration with the U.A.E. Armed Forces and Zayed University to offer cadets a baccalaureate academic program that meets universal standards.

Students admitted to the Sweihan campus will follow the same academic model as their counterparts at Zayed Universitys' Abu Dhabi and Dubai campus. The startup program is expected to be the Academic Bridge Program (ABP), along with a developmental math component, while long term goals are to offer baccalaureate programs in IT, Education, Communication & Media Sciences, Business Administration and Health Sciences.

The plans are for the program's intake to grow by about 50 more students per year, so that in it's second year 250 students will be enrolled.
Present at the orientation program was H. E Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim Vice President of Zayed University and Dr. Louis Muir Provost and Commander Haroun Saleh Bin Tamemi and several faculty members assigned to interact with students at the Sweihan Campus.

During his speech H. E Dr. Sulaiman Al Jassim praised the great interest His Highness President Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has constantly shown in the U.A.E's educational environment and the unlimited support of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to the development of the educational strategy of higher education institutes to introduce the latest scientific methods and programs that enhance leadership abilities in Emirati students.

Dr. Al Jassim confirmed that the vision of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research President of Zayed University aims to enhance the university's contributions in establishing links with different international and local academic institutions and scientific research centers throughout the world, he added that Zayed University's Sweihan Campus is the first higher educational institute to be established in Sweihan.
