  • PRESS RELEASE

CNN International announced today that ARTOC, the Egyptian international investment group, is extending its successful relationship with the international news network by sponsoring CNN's flagship monthly, hour-long feature programme, 'Quest'.

This announcement builds on ARTOC's inaugural international television advertising campaign which involves the sponsorship of the 'CNN Business Traveller' programme which started in September and is part of the group's strategy to build its profile with CNN's elite global audience.

The addition of 'Quest' to ARTOC's multimedia campaign with CNN includes TV advertising on CNN International and sponsorship of the Quest online microsite on CNNInternaitional.com and CNNArabic.com, as well as a run of site banner campaign. The 'Quest' programme sees CNNs' Richard Quest travel to locations around the world to explore a range of contemporary topics in his unique and distinctive way. Interviewing world leaders in every field, the show brings insightful reports to viewers from the places looking at topics of everyday interest, ranging from music and beauty to peace making and festive celebrations.

Commenting on the deal, Rani R. Raad, Senior Vice President of Ad Sales at CNN International, said, "We are delighted that we have able to extend our relationship with ARTOC by working with them to create a multi-media campaign around the 'Quest' programme. The sponsorship of 'CNN Business Traveller' has been a great success and we are very pleased to work with ARTOC in enabling them to build their global brand awareness. Where 'CNN Business Traveller' reaches a specific target audience, we believe that we are able to add to the value of their promotion on CNN through the platform of the distinctive 'Quest' show. This multi-media package reaches an increased target business audience and emphasises our dedication to enabling our clients to reach the "global citizen" across a range of platforms."

Shafik Gabr, Chairman of the ARTOC Group added, "Based on the existing success of our current campaign with 'CNN Business Traveller', it was a natural choice to extend ARTOC's campaign to include 'Quest', which has amassed a large following on CNN. By associating with such an esteemed current affairs programme in addition to 'CNN Business Traveller', we are strengthening our group's brand on a global stage, and using a profitable business and investment platform to do so. Following our successes with the 'CNN Business Traveller' campaign, we look forward to enjoying even more success with 'Quest' and an even more profitable relationship with CNN in the future."

Presented each month by CNN anchor Richard Quest, 'Quest' touches on some of the most pressing contemporary topics from around the world, and past programmes have focused on 'The High Life' and 'Spirituality'. The show also presents some of the most insightful one-on-ones with the key figures at the heart of some of today's most important issues, and has included an intimate dialogue with Buddhist spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, football talk with French football star, Thierry Henry and discussions on the environment with musician Sting and wife Trudie Styler.

On air, ARTOC advertisements feature within the 'Quest' programme and across sponsored programme highlights that air throughout the month. The show airs to CNN International audiences across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific, South Asia and Japan.
