The Korean team of medical specialists, all coming from Seoul University arrived in Amman on February 7th 2008, and started the screening of patients' on February 9th. Between the time periods of February 10th 2008 and February 14th they will be conducting surgeries for 25 children, at the Jordan University Hospital, with the help of a team of Jordanian physicians headed by Head of Surgery and Burns Unit at Jordan University Hospital Dr. Samir Jabaiti.
To voice their support and appreciation to the team, and at the end of the first day of surgeries, The Korean ambassador in Jordan personally visited the patients after their surgeries to check on them. Joining his Excellency and the Korean medical team on the tour, Professor Abed El-Kareem Al-Qudah, Head of Jordan University Hospital, Mr. Kevin Cha General Manager of LGE Amman Branch, and Mr. Osama Al-Khalili, Chairman of the Board of Middle East Complex (MEC). During the tour the visiting delegation distributed toys to the little children wish well and a speedy recovery.
The 'Hope' campaign will also include a medical seminar conducted by the Korean team on the latest medical advancements seen in the field of reconstructive surgery in Korea, allowing a healthy venue to exchange expertise and knowledge between medical specialists from both Jordan and Korea.
Mr. Kevin Cha, the General Manager of the LGE Amman Branch said,
'We at LGE are very proud of the positive results we have achieved since the campaign's launch in 2004. We believe we are an integral part of this community. we work extensively in developing and improving the Jordanian Community atmosphere and look forward to keep smiles on their faces by adopting ( The Hope Campaign ) we will continue supporting various activities from different fields, such as Dead Sea Ultra Marathon which benefits neurological patients in Jordan.'
He also added, 'We would like to thank Fann FM for their cooperation. They had a great role in helping us in continuing this campaign successfully, they broadcasted the campaign on their daily morning show Bisaraha, in which the majority of the Jordanian people listen to its news in the morning, and we also thank Jordan University Hospital for their co-operation with us.
From his end, Mr. Osama Al-Khalili, Chairman of the Board of the Middle East Complex (MEC) added, 'MEC and LGE wish the patients and their family's prosperity and good health. We are both very proud to be part of this campaign, for this campaign is one that comes with a great humanitarian message, We are not just providers of high quality consumer electronics and cutting edge technological solutions; we are also proactive players in Jordan's journey towards future development.'
