'Launched in 1996 to boost retail in the emirate, DSF has grown into a global 'shoppertainment' and cultural event, attracting over 3.5 million visitors last time out, with more expected in 2008. This year's festival will have special significance for Al Rostamani as it falls on the group's 50th anniversary,' said Chairman Marwan Abdulla Al Rostamani. 'The company's sponsorship of the festival', he added, 'is a platform to share the 50th anniversary celebration with the community in the UAE and across the region.'
'DSF has become synonymous with everything that is good about Dubai,' Al Rostamani said. 'The festival is not only about shopping. It is a celebration of the family, of different cultures and, of course, of Dubai. DSF not only provides a significant boost to the local economy, it helps spread the word about this wonderful city to people all over the world.'
He added, 'Al Rostamani Group is happy and proud to have been a founding sponsor of DSF, and we will continue to support this great event in the future.'
DSF 2008 will run for 32 days, from January 24 to February 24, 2008.
