- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, February 14 - 2008 at 09:31
- PRESS RELEASE
Nattiq Technologies announced the completion and delivery of 90 mobile phones equipped with Talks, mobile phone screen reader software, to the Red Crescent Society of the UAE.
Talks thoroughly reads all information that is displayed on the mobile's screen in both languages for blind and visually impaired users.
With Talks blind users gain privacy and independence in using standard mobile phones such as reading and writing SMS messages, reading numbers from incoming calls and retrieving contact numbers from the address book of the phone in addition to a host of other features enabling them to be completely independent in using their handsets.
Nattiq arranged to set up support hotlines to provide technical help to the blind beneficiaries who reside in different cities and Emirates.
"Talks had become a necessary tool for blind people to gain complete privacy and independence in using their mobile phones. Thousands of blind people around the world enjoy using Talks which continues to develop in order to meet their changing needs ", said Auda Hazeem, Nattiq Technologies CEO.
Talks is developed and updated by Nuance Communications Inc., a U.S. based corporation.
Nattiq Technologies partnered with Nuance in localizing Talks into Arabic more than 5 years ago.
Nattiq offers up to a 30-day demo version of Talks to interested individuals who would like to evaluate the software.
