Al Jazeera, headquartered in Doha, has an estimated peak audience of 50 million viewers worldwide and has broadcasting centres in Qatar, UK, USA and Malaysia.
The network held a selection process to appoint a legal adviser, following a period of intense international growth during which many firms have advised on elements of its business.
"Denton Wilde Sapte's knowledge and experience, as well as their comprehensive understanding of the media industry, means that they are able to give us clear and constructive advice on our business internationally,"
says Anas Al-Merstani, Al Jazeera's Manager of Legal Affairs and Contracts Department.
"This appointment complements the firm's international reach, and corresponds well with our market-leading Middle Eastern network in particular, which was a key factor in our selection," says Leigh Hall, managing partner of the firm's Doha office.
The firm has already advised Al Jazeera on a number of matters and expects further instructions to follow across the firm's international network.
