MBS Worldwide launched its MBA programmes in the region in January 2006, followed by the opening of the Middle East Regional Centre in Dubai (the third international centre after Singapore and Hong Kong) later in the year. Today, MBS Worldwide supports almost 300 students from around the region, including Kuwait, following its blended learning programmes.
MBS Worldwide is dedicated to developing, supporting and administering independent guided learning on a global scale. For more than a decade, individuals and corporate clients in over 80 countries have benefited from the School's unique MBA programmes. Enabling access to quality management education for career-orientated professionals, regardless of location, MBS Worldwide now supports 2,500 students and has over 2,000 alumni who form part of the 5,000- strong MBS alumni network.
From the Middle East Regional Centre, MBSW currently offers three blended learning MBA programmes - MBA for Engineering Business Managers, MBA for Financial Managers and Finance Professionals, and MBS' unique MBA for Construction Executives. All the programmes combine self-study with a high degree of face to face contact with MBS faculty, at workshops held in Dubai or one of the other centres, or even in Manchester.
Randa Bessiso, Director Middle East, MBS Worldwide, explains the School's interest in Kuwait:
"We are delighted to be participating in the EduKuwait Exhibition for the first time and bringing the Manchester MBA to Kuwait. We already have around 20 senior managers from a range of sectors in Kuwait studying for an MBA with us, and they have been very encouraging and supportive of us coming to the Kuwait exhibition."
"Our MBA programmes are post-experience courses, which means that students should have several years' work experience, including at managerial level. The average age of our students is mid-thirties and we have senior executives right up to board level in our current cohort of students. With the dynamic economic expansion taking place in Kuwait, which is developing local talent and attracting professionals from around the world, we are hoping to meet strong student candidates, as well as employers, during EduKuwait 2008."
MBS is one of only a small number of business schools worldwide to be accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA), AACSB International and EQUIS. The 'Manchester MBA' degree is awarded by The University of Manchester and the certificate awarded to students in the Middle East is exactly the same as that awarded to full-time campus-based students. Most importantly, employers all over the world recognise its value; a hallmark qualification with international recognition.
MBS Worldwide's blended learning MBA programme was recently (2008) ranked 8th in the world by the Economist Intelligence Unit; the school is ranked 22nd in the world, 4th in the UK and top 10 in Europe by the Financial Times (January 2008); and a Forbes magazine survey (2007) placed the school 4th in the world outside the U.S. for return on investment. MBS is also ranked the number one university in the world (survey published by Accounting & Finance magazine, January 2008) for accounting research.
