UAE licence plate sold at $14m

An Abu Dhabi licence plate has sold for a world-record Dhs52.2m ($14m) at auction. Saeed Abdel Ghaffar Khouri, 25, bought licence plate number 1, breaking the previous record held by his relative Talal Ali Mohammad Khouri, who acquired license plate number 5 for Dhs25.2m in September, said Emirates Auction Managing Director Abdulla Al Mannaie.
