'The Middle East and surrounding region offers unparalleled opportunities for companies involved in the energy sector,' said Dr. Ferdinando Fiore, the Italian Trade Commissioner in Dubai, who coordinates the Italian national pavilion at Middle East Electricity.

'This show, which is recognised as the leading energy event of its kind anywhere in the world, represents the ideal opportunity for Italian companies to establish themselves in the market, build business relationships and identify commercial opportunities.'

Leading Italian companies showcased their expertise in a range of areas, with a number of highly advanced energy solutions on show to Middle East Electricity's largest ever audience of professional trade visitors.

Energy saving expertise was on show in the shape of the new 'Baldo' electronic ballast microprocessor from Dossena. State-of-the-art new and renewable energy solutions were displayed by Globenergy, while Coelmo exhibited their advanced energy systems, including gensets and lighting towers and a new product, Coelmo Marine, which sets new benchmarks for on-board power generation.

Further product innovations on show included advanced capacitators from ICAR and Italfaral, industrial power solutions from Borri and Modo Mix, a brand new range of elegant, colour-coordinated switches and plugs from Master.

FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technologies) demonstrated the strength of Italian expertise in delivering high quality powertrain solutions for the automotive, industrial, marine and power generation sectors, and Caldani, which has actively participated in the research programme planned by the Kyoto Protocol, highlighted the design aesthetics that Italy is so famous for with its ground-breaking Stapelia solar powered lighting system and environmentally friendly sustainable energy solutions.

Tecsystem's new ST series of conductors have been designed specifically to deliver drastic reductions in the costs of connecting installed sensors on transformers and electric motors and to protect units that are set in the control panel a long away from the machine. Through intelligent design, the unit means no more screened and twisted cables with nine/twelve conductors, as the ST has only four conductors.

Middle East Electricity, the largest ever showcase of products and services for all sectors of the energy industry ever staged in the Middle East and North Africa, comprehensively covered the power generation, water, lighting, gas and new & renewable energy sectors. 'Visitor numbers showed a significant increase once again this year,' said Sarah Woodbridge, Group Director - Exhibitions at IIR Middle East, organisers of the event.

'Exhibitors were unanimous in their opinion that this year the show achieved an even higher level in terms of the very high quality of decision makers that attended the show from all over the world, and many hundreds of important new business relationships were established in addition to the many large deals that were confirmed over the four days of the event.'

Middle East Electricity is globally recognised as the power behind the Middle East Energy industry, and is rated by exhibitors and visitors as the world's leading event of its kind. 'We were delighted to once again receive the enthusiastic support of the Federal Electricity and Water Authority and UAE Ministry of Energy,' added Woodbridge. 'Response to Power Generation and Water Middle East, the new energy event we will launch in Abu Dhabi later this year (October) has been very strong, and we anticipate a strong representation from many of the world leaders that are at Middle East Electricity in Dubai.'
