du achieves 22% Emiratization in less than one year of operations

Underscoring this effort, the new telecom operator in the UAE recently participated in Abu Dhabi Fair 2008 (Tawdheef) as one of the main sponsors attracting over 1200 Emirati applicants seeking job opportunities.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Executive Vice President Human Resources, du, commented: "du's participation at Abu Dhabi Career Fair 2008 (Tawdheef) comes as part of our continuous endeavour to support Emiratization and achieving the UAE's strategic goals of providing training and employment opportunities to nationals."
"Qualified human resources are the main pillar for du's success. We are proud to have achieved an Emiratization level of 22% out of which 40% are at the senior management level. Being an innovative national company, we are committed to the development of the UAE community and will continue creating new job openings. This year we aim to hire 1000 new staff with first priority given to UAE nationals," added Al Hassawi.
A specialized team at du will review all applications and update the applicants with possible internship and employment opportunities within the company.
Jamal Khalifa Lootah, Director of Emiratization and National Resources Development at du said: "du has created a specialized department to implement its Emiratization strategy. Here we provide the necessary tools to develop the skills of our Emirati employees and assist them to achieve the professional advancement they are seeking."
Since its launch du has always participated in all special activities that aim to achieve the Emiratization strategy of the country by taking part in all Career Fairs across the UAE. This is in addition to open employment days such as the Masar program that are held regularly to openly communicate with high school and college graduates and update them on available employment opportunities. All this has added to the Emiratization progress at du.
