The three-day seminar took place on January 28-30 and functioned as a workshop where the women were encouraged to participate in discussions about creativity and problem solving skills.

Watani invited Dr. Al Jallad, who also leads as head of the students committee at the Ajman University, to speak to the group about the importance of creativity in the problem solving process. Al Jallad placed emphasis on extracting positive learning out of negative experiences and to open up about the experience in order to get help and successfully deal with its underlying issues.

The Watani-led workshop offered another solution to solving problems in an effective manner. Using the Islamic Methodology, 'Istekhara', to handle a problematic issue has to do with the processes of counseling, prayer and seeking God's guidance to overcome an initiating problem. The methodology applies the idea of 'looking for positive attributes in negative situations' and provides a sure direction in improving one's intellectual problem solving skills through the positive analysis of the conflict.

Dr. Al Jallad also emphasized on the importance of thinking outside the box and provided the participants with a definition of creativity. 'Creativity is to look at an ordinary and usual fact in an unusual and extraordinary way,' said Dr. Al Jallad. In promoting creative thinking in everyday life, he explained that the increase in personal creativity will make the process of issuing original ideas quicker, more spontaneous and eventually a subconscious norm.
Upon graduating from the three-day seminar, the 27 women who took part in the 'Watani Women' workshop were presented with certificates of participation at a ceremony honoring the women as well as Dr. Al Jallaf for his innovative ideas about education and creativity.

Watani's 'Watani Women' seminar program was initiated as a result of its ongoing drive for the social, cultural and educational development of the UAE community. In addition to the 'Watani Women' initiative, Watani also hosts a string of ongoing open-to-public seminars under the program name 'Watani Culture'.
