Steve Miller has been appointed as Managing Director of Wood Group Engineering Services (Middle East) Ltd, with responsibility for the company's rotating and oilfield equipment service facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar. He was previously General Manager of Sulzer Wood Limited, a joint venture between Wood Group and Sulzer Pumps UK, based in Ellon, Scotland.
Steve brings 21 years of experience in the rotating equipment industry to his new role, together with a wealth of experience, both practical and managerial, across the oil & gas, hydrocarbon processing, power, water and paper markets.
Stuart Broadley, Managing Director and President of Wood Group's Light Industrial Turbines business, said: "Steve Miller has demonstrated outstanding operational excellence in his career to date, and his experience and energy will be instrumental in the future growth of WGES."
Steve Miller takes over from the current Managing Director of WGES, Steve Hawley, who although taking retirement in April 2008, will continue to fulfil the role of Consultant for Wood Group in the Middle East.
Stuart Broadley said: "Steve Hawley has led the successful development and growth of Wood Group Engineering Services for the last 15 years. His knowledge and expertise is invaluable and we are delighted that he will continue to support the business and team."
