Mideast food service market worth $31bn

The Middle East food service market is estimated to be worth more than $31bn a year, according to organizers of the 13th Gulfood Exhibition, which will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from February 24 to 27. Of this, the GCC states account for almost $9.5bn, with meat, poultry and fish accounting for 30% of purchases by the foodservice sectors. Ninety per cent of region's food needs are imported.
