The coaching programme at MUSS aims at encouraging ongoing improvement for all its players, which is the incentive behind the Development Squad.
The MUSS Development Squad is a programme designed for selected players from this season's course who consistently achieved a high standard of play and closely followed the MUSS Code of Conduct both on and off the field. The selection process is ongoing, where players who show the necessary improvement are eligible to be part of the squad.
The advanced Development Squad training sessions focus on the technical, tactical, mental and physical and social aspects of the game in a team orientated, positive and supportive match play environment.
'MUSS has promoted actively a sport-for-all agenda for young footballers across the whole age and ability range. We have seen continuous improvement and dedication from all our participants both on and off the field, and as a result, the Development Squad initiative allows us to reward this improvement,' said Andrew Dixon, Head Coach for MUSS in Dubai.
Since its inception last year, the programme has encouraged a high standard of play and adherence to the MUSS Code of Conduct, which stresses sporting behaviour and a positive attitude on and off the football field. For MUSS, the ability of its students to act as ambassadors for the game through ability and discipline alike is crucially important.
'One reason why MUSS is our best-of-breed partner is its ability to introduce young players to a complete sporting lifestyle in the most comprehensive and professional way,' stated U. Balasubramaniam, CEO of Dubai Sports City. 'The Development Squad represents the next stage of this process, and a strong contribution to local sport.'
The development squad provides a further reason for young footballers aged 7 to 18 to attend Manchester United Soccer Schools, which is set to move to its permanent home at Dubai Sports City this year.
