Speaking about the significance of ICT in the Age of Information, Mr. Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director Datamatix Group said, "Recent years have seen the rapid growth and expansion of Information and Communication Technologies in terms of innovation, application, and diffusion.

An increasingly powerful social and economic tool, it has become an important and integral part of the day to day operations of government and business organizations, educational and financial institutions, as well as the lives of individuals."

He also discussed the importance of events aimed at introducing and explaining new ICT products and services saying "Staying abreast of the latest innovations and trends in ICT is a must for organizations that wish to maintain a competitive edge, but, with constant developments in the field, doing so is a never-ending and daunting task that makes exhibitions, which gather all the latest technologies together in one place, an absolute necessity.

It is our aim to compliment such efforts by organizing these Conferences. We are looking at our 12th year now, and judging from the attendance and the response of delegates these past years, I would say that we are doing a pretty good job".

The Datamatix Gitex Conferences are designed to help delegates understand recently unveiled technologies, services, and applications and develop strategies to employ them.

This 2008 conferences will be organized around themes that are yet to be announced related to CIO strategies, Enterprise, Websites and Portals, Mobile IT, Security, Open Source and Identity, and within these themes, delegates will explore and closely examine the latest trends and practices in applications and services, IT system overhauls, and technological hacks and etiquette that are needed to sustain the booming "Service Economy".

The event will also provide significant opportunities for interaction among delegates and leading industry experts, through open and panel discussions as well as networking sessions and other avenues for socializing.

The event annually draws a sizable crowd from the regional ICT sector and professionals.
