First appearance for Abu Dhabi Tourism at Milan Tourism Exchange

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) is leading a number of its tourism industry partners in the emirate on Abu Dhabi Stand at the leisure tourism- related BIT 2008, International Tourism Exchange which will be held at the New Exhibition Centre in Milan, Italy, from 21 ¡V 24 February.
Stressing the importance of participating in leisure tourism exhibitions taking place in Europe as a key market targeted by the emirate to back its tourism and investment sector, H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, said: ¡§Our participation represents an opportunity to strengthen the existing relationships and partnerships in tourism industry including leisure sector. Sheikh Sultan emphasised that this participation would further promote what the emirate has to offer in terms of tourism and economic sector and the investment facilities and luxury services offered by them.
H.E. Sheikh Sultan added that the participation in these premier international tourism events is part of the Government of Abu Dhabi¡¦s efforts which aim at positioning the emirate as a leading tourist destination regionally and internationally. H.E pointed out to the increasing participations of the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and its tourism partners at the international events praising the successful participation of Abu Dhabi at AIME Incentives and Conferences Exhibition, which concluded (20 February).
H.E. Sheikh Sultan praised the coordination between the government and private tourism sectors in the field of tourism sector and the large investment opportunities it creates in line with the current infrastructure and expansion developments in the emirate. He added: "This partnership with the private sector has proved successful in attracting more targeted international tourist services providers and investors."
"The Abu Dhabi¡¦s participation in the International Tourism Exchange in Milan is part of the plans and programmes that aim to upgrade leisure tourism and its operating sectors considering its importance to promote Abu Dhabi as a world ¡Vclass tourist destination offering a variety of diversified luxury leisure tourist products including beaches, unique nature and luxurious hotels as well as heritage, cultural, sports and entertainment activities.
The International Tourism Exchange in Milan is one of the most important international and regional tourism exhibitions attracting 150,000 visitors, including 108,000 trade visitors and 42,000 from general public from 122 countries, the four-day tourism industry show is set to witness the Abu Dhabi appearance through a pavilion featuring some of the emirate¡¦s key travel and tourism companies and projects including ALDAR Properties, Emirates Palace Hotel, Etihad Airways and the Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel who will showcase their very best of leisure and business tourism products and facilities to the Italian trade professionals and the general public.

These include; destination marketing; infrastructure and product development; and regulation and classification.
