HTC keen on leveraging reach of Cairo ICT 2008 to establish presence in high potential Egyptian market

HTC Corp., the world's leading provider of Microsoft Windows Mobile-based smart devices, has announced that it is making its debut in the Cairo ICT 2008 forum that will be held from February 24-27 at the Cairo International Conference Center (CICC).

HTC, which is keen on leveraging the reach and popularity of one of the region's biggest ICT exhibitions to establish its presence in the high potential Egyptian market, will be showcasing its whole range of mobility devices at the event.

HTC's product line up will be headlined by its Touch range, which includes the HTC Touch and the HTC Touch Dual. These two devices use HTC's revolutionary TouchFLO touch-screen technology, which allows finger-touch scrolling, panning, and photo zooming. The company will also introduce to the Egyptian market its latest Smart mobile device offering, the TyTYN II, which packs all the power of Windows Mobile 6 into a unique new form factor, continuing HTC's 10-year heritage of innovation in device design. Featuring high speed HSDPA connectivity and an innovative tilting touch screen, this device is the ultimate mobile companion.

Another new entrant to Egypt will be the HTC Shift, which has an innovative QWERTY-based keyboard design and 3G-connectivity, comes with Windows Vista Business, includes a brilliant 7-inch widescreen touch display and a 40-gigabyte hard drive. Packed with advanced connectivity, the HTC Shift features high-speed global connectivity with Tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA, Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi. The device leverages Windows Media Player 11 to provide easy access to music, videos and photos.

Cairo ICT 2008 will be held under the theme 'The M Power,' relating to Mobility, Media, Money and Management. New sectors are joining Cairo ICT for the first time this year including a big representation of the banking and financial services sector as well as real estate services and investment. Different government bodies will participate this year in addition to a huge representation of retailers from several Egyptian governorates.
