Dubai Lifestyle City awards Dhs49m infrastructure contract to Bin Ladin

ETA Star and Ascon Group's flagship luxury project, Dubai Lifestyle City, today announced that it has awarded a Dhs49m infrastructure contract to Saudi-based Bin Ladin Contracting Division.

Dubai Lifestyle City, a Dhs2.5bn project based in Dubailand, covers a land area of over four m square feet and aims to create a self-sufficient lifestyle community by September 2009.

The Dhs49m private sector contract awarded to Bin Ladin Contracting will cover infrastructure installations within Dubai Lifestyle City. This will also include sewerage and storm water drainage system, electrical cable, irrigation piping, firefighting system, low current system ducts, street lighting and cabling works.

Arif B. Rahman, Managing Director of Dubai Lifestyle City, said, "At Dubai Lifestyle City, we give priority to safety and comfort of its residents and visitors. We always aim for premium quality in our work and we are confident that Bin Ladin Contracting will meet our requirements and specifications at this stage."

In a strategic move aimed at ensuring continued quality, Dubai Lifestyle City has hired Cansult Maunsell, one of the largest engineering consulting firms in the Gulf region to design and overlook the infrastructure works development. Work on grading, leveling and site mobilisation of the project has already been completed.

The Dubai Lifestyle City has roped in some of the most respected international brands to give the project a special touch of efficacy, exclusivity and credibility. The names include JW Marriott, IMG Academies, Cisco and Microsoft.

Dubai Lifestyle City, the comprehensive lifestyle project, will have 68 Tuscan-themed villas and 120 villettes (apartments), two hotels - one 5-Star and another 4-Star, destination spas, sports academies, fashion, art, theatre and shopping facilities, an arboretum and other amenities, all digitally connected to each other.
