Mashreq appoints Douglas K. Beckett as new Head of Retail Banking Group

An expert in the field, Beckett brings with him an extensive financial service experience in both the corporate and consumer banking sectors. Prior to his new position at Mashreq, Beckett worked at the Qatar National Bank as General Manager, Retail responsible for 45 branches and also held the same post at Standard Chartered Bank in Africa for many years.

Commenting on Beckett's appointment, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO of Mashreq said "Beckett's thorough knowledge and understanding of the retail arena and our business and clients' needs make him a valuable extension to our Senior Management and Leadership Forum. In recent years, the Retail Banking Group (RBG) has enjoyed significant growth with the launch of several new products and is ranked as the first amongst all UAE local banks in terms of credit card spend. The bank was also named amongst the top three banks in the UAE.
