Mashreq appoints Douglas K. Beckett as new Head of Retail Banking Group

Mashreq announced the appointment of Douglas K. Beckett, as Head of Retail Banking and will be based at Mashreq's headquarters in Dubai.
Commenting on Beckett's appointment, Mr. Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, CEO of Mashreq said "Beckett's thorough knowledge and understanding of the retail arena and our business and clients' needs make him a valuable extension to our Senior Management and Leadership Forum. I am confident that Beckett will make a significant contribution towards our goals as we continue to cement the bank as one of the leading financial institutions throughout the region."
In recent years, the Retail Banking Group (RBG) has enjoyed significant growth with the launch of several new products and is ranked as the first amongst all UAE local banks in terms of credit card spend. The bank was also named amongst the top three banks in the UAE.
"We work in a very diverse and dynamic market and over the past 20 years, I have been fortunate enough to witness exponential growth across the Middle East," stated Beckett. "I am excited to take on this new role and look forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead of us."
