Septech's Marine Division to boost its production capacity by 400%
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 26 - 2008 at 12:32
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai is the fastest growing marina industry in the world, and regional infrastructure players are investing heavily to develop their production facilities to meet growing demand, according to Paul Lane, Marine Division Manager at Septech Emirates, leading infrastructure specialists.
To cater to the growing demand in marine construction, Septech Emirates will invest significantly in 2008 to expand its marine services and set up a new facility in the Northern Emirates to boost its current production capacity by 400%.
"Septech recently increased the production of its existing marine factory from 250 berths to 5,000 berths per year. However, this is not enough to accommodate the tremendous growth in waterfront developments. As a result, we have decided to set up a new facility, which will be operational in 2009. This new facility aims to further increase our marine production capability to around 25,000 berths per year," said Lane.
With the potential of producing more than 25,000 tailor-made berths each year, Septech will not only be able to address local and regional demand but will also be in a strong position to export its products to international markets.
Septech's Marine Division has grown substantially from a foothold presence when it was established 11 years ago. Today, it is the only company in the region that is supported by 12 manufacturing facilities worldwide with an approximate 75% market share in the UAE's thriving marine industry.
Lane added: "Waterfront developments across the region have propelled our growth. Clients understand the benefits of quality products and services and the value of our partnership with Bellingham Marine - the world's largest marina builder. Over the past three years alone, Septech has seen more than double increase in turnover and we see this figure growing at a stronger pace over the next five to seven years."
Septech's Marine Division recently cemented its reputation in aquatic construction with the completion of Dubai Festival City's Mega Yacht Facility, Festival Marina. Septech Emirates was responsible for the construction and installation of the pontoons (floats used to support a structure on water) and service stations which aid in recharging boats and provide sewerage pump outs.
"New technology was used to manufacture the pontoons, making them completely environmentally-safe. No harm to aquatic life was caused and in fact, the pontoons will enable growth of aquatic plants below the pontoon surface," said Lane.
Through its participation at the Waterfront 2008 Dubai conference, Septech Emirates Marine Division will showcase its product portfolio, services and technical solutions. The company will also have a prominent presence at the upcoming Dubai International Boat Show which takes place from March 11 to 15, 2008 at Dubai International Marine Club (Mina Seyahi).
