Dubai Women Establishment urges for opening of opportunities for UAE Women

Dubai Women Establishment hosted Mrs. Julie Ellen Acosta, Vice President of Leadership Development of Boeing for a seminar with the participation of more than 60 UAE women leaders in the country and the board members of DWE leaded by their chairperson Mona Al-Marri.
Mrs.Acosta spoke about the major challenges faced by a woman at various locations within the societies and cultures, and how to be able to achieve great successes in their respective areas. She also invited the participants to benefit from the experiences of others pointing to women's ability to cope with difficult challenges and adapt them to streamline their lives and personal process and allow them to support the development of their country.
In this context, Mrs. Mona Al Marri Chairperson of Dubai Women Establishment welcomed the visit of Mrs. Julie Ellen Acosta, and valued her efforts in cooperation with establishment to support women to achieve the greatest possible involvement in the community and said " Emirati women have many capabilities that allow them to excel at their counterparts among women around the world.women, and all they need is a suitable environment and tools that allow them to engage at the highest ranks in the labour market and encourage then to have work life balance.
Al Marri pointed out to the recent launch of the five-year strategic plan of Dubai Women Establishment is to enhance UAE women's role in the country, as a step to prepare the establishment to extend its role to go regional and international as well. The Establishment announcement was under the guidance of Her Highness Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) and wife of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister for Presidential Affairs.
Aisha Al-Suwaidi Director of Leadership Development of DWE stressed on the importance of these types of seminar that helps participants to see real examples of women leaders live, and opens the door for further discussion of the exchange of ideas and experiences, in turn, she pointed out that such activity is one of several activities coming under the current strategy of the Establishment, which has the lead in providing creative initiatives that would contribute to the development of the presence of women in all areas of work.
Maitha Buhumaid Director of Communication at DWE also stressed on the ability of the Establishment to play the bridging role between women among themselves at the local level and among the world, in the framework of the Establishment objective as a leading entity to promote women's needs and aspirations towards the progress of society. She also pointed to the importance of direct communication between the Establishment ,the public and women in different pilot models in similar events and gatherings as such seminars work as an excellent networking tool among UAE female leaders with the regional and international leaders.
DWE was formed under Decree No. 24 of 2006, issued by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, with the target of enhancing and empowering UAE women abilities in all fields and highlighting their positive social role.
