Chubb Fire Qatar division introduces groundbreaking emergency facilities
- Qatar: Tuesday, February 26 - 2008 at 23:30
- PRESS RELEASE
Chubb Fire, a worldwide leader in fire safety equipment, supplies and security solutions recently acquired the agency for Western Shelter's, Gatekeeper specialist portable Field Hospital and medical response units under their newly opened division, IGTC Special Risks.
Western Shelter Systems is a world renowned specialist and supplier to all the major DMAT, FEMA, ImSurt and other rescue agencies worldwide of easily constructible, portable and scalable housing facilities for disaster, rescue and recovery operations.
The MRTS system gives national and state emergency service providers the leading edge in deploying these highly portable, autonomous and weather resistant emergency mobile command centres and hospitals for a variety of rescue operations.
The MRTS Trailer comes equipped with 6 immediately deployable shelter units which convert into an environmentally secure and modular Field Hospital System complete with Air conditioning, air filtration, water supply, hygiene center, beds etc. for staff and up to 50 rescue victims.
The Trailer itself becomes an independent command centre for providing cargo, hospital facilities, emergency equipment and electricity for several urgent situations requiring medical assistance and support.
IGTC Special Risks- Chubb Fire's acquisition of the agency for Western Shelter and its advanced MRTS solution was introduced at Qatar Petroleum's Al Ghazal Club last Thursday in the presence of VIPs, Health and Safety officials, representatives from Hamad Hospital, Qatar Petroleum, members of the National Health Authority and Qatar's Permanent Emergency Committee.
Representing IGTC Special Risks-Chubb Fire Qatar at the launch of the new solution was Mr. Robert Botha, General Manager, Mr. Rami Al Batrawi, Sales & Marketing Manager and Mr. Jacques Du Plessis, Emergency Specialist from IGTC - Special Risks.
"With the ever changing conditions in which emergencies occur, the need to have immediate response capability, scalability and self sufficiency is paramount. The MRTS system demonstrates the highest extent of introducing technologically advanced products and systems to times of distress for quick and immediate deployment across the Middle East."
Mr. Botha emphasised, "This solution is tried and tested across several international terrains and conditions putting Western Shelter's Gatekeeper system and IGTC Special Risks-Chubb Fire at the forefront of such technology distribution.
The MRTS system and its 53-foot trailer has helped respond to a variety of emergency situations in which several rescue victims and staff have availed of housing, aid, assistance and medical provisions with ease. Currently such a system is currently still supplying a 150 bed fully integrated hospital system, for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, which hit New Orleans nearly 900 days ago."
"This DMAT, FEMA, and ImSurt standard exceeds the CDC guidelines. What these systems give you is efficiency and unparalleled response capability to disasters, infectious disease control and surge capacity," Mr. Botha explained. "Each unit is a highly sophisticated technological construct which can be put up by merely 4 to 5 people in a few hours, without any tools.
Furthermore, these complexes come with their own Easy Seal systems to give their walls and roofs, insulation and lighting for seventy two hours continuously, on contained generators and fuel supplies. Used in times of distress or as a Gatekeeper, MRTS will revolutionise conventional methods of emergency response with great effect and usher in a new era for safety facilities across the Middle East."
