Bahraini journalist sues MP

Bahrain: Wednesday, February 27 - 2008 at 07:42

A Bahraini journalist has sued a member of parliament accusing him of insulting her and hurting her feelings during a recent press conference, reported Khaleej Times. Batool Al Sayed is the first journalist to press charges against a parliamentarian in Bahrain. The incident occurred when Batool asked Dr Ali Ahmed why his bloc was pushing for the grilling of the Municipalities and Agriculture Minister Mansoor bin Rajab while neglecting other serious corruption scandals. The MP got angry and asked her to behave and learn how to talk. According to the journalist, the MP's remarks made her feel humiliated in front of those attending the event.
