Prior to her meeting with Adel Al Shared, Acosta met with Mohammed Al Gergawi, the UAE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of The Executive Office, and discussed various initiatives and projects underway in Dubai that aim to develop male and female national human resources.
Al Gergawi also highlighted the efforts of various parties in Dubai to nurture young UAE Nationals who have the potential to be visionary leaders of tomorrow.
Julie Acosta also met with Ahmad Bin Bayat, Dubai Executive Council Secretary General, and discussed possible ways of cooperation between Boeing Leadership Centre and Dubai Government in the field of development of leaders in line with the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.
"It is our aim to provide nationals with the best training possible, and prepare them for the future task of sustaining the socio-economic success the country has achieved. Making long-term investments for the development of our human capital is an integral part of Dubai Government's vision,"said Ahmad Bin Bayat, Dubai Executive Council Secretary General.
Adel Al Shared commented: "MBRPLD has prepared a very active schedule for 2008 in view of the increasing need to develop a deeper pool of world-class leaders. The long-term training program, widely recognised for its critical role in the professional development of government leaders, has also been bolstered by alliances with world-class institutions Duke Corporate Education and INSEAD, the business school of the world, to develop MBRPLD's comprehensive training structure and beef up its educational resources.
Commenting on the MBRPLD and its initiatives, Julie Acosta said, "I haven't come across a more comprehensive program for leadership development anywhere in the world."
Acosta also expressed her keenness to benefit from the resources and components of the MBRPLD, and conveyed her desire to collaborate with the Program for future initiatives.
MBRPLD offers up-to-date international standard preparation methods designed to develop leadership traits among prospective leaders of various government departments and federal ministries, in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRPLD initiative.
Seven key program components have been identified that will provide highly focused training and input to satisfy the specific requirements of program participants.
