The meeting was chaired by former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir John Major and attended by all IAB members. The NBK International Advisory Board sets a precedent for Banks and financial institutions in the Middle East.
The IAB counts among its members some of the most prominent figures in the Arab world such as HRH Prince Turki Al-Faisal, Chairman and Director General of the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Development, Abdullatif Al-Hamad and the renowned Egyptian businessman, Naguib Sawiris, in addition to an impressive array of distinguished world figures in the fields of politics, economics and business.
NBK Chief Executive Officer, Ibrahim Shukri Dabdoub said that the new NBK International Advisory Board will play an influential role in providing expertise and consultation as well as participating in developing future strategies for NBK and supporting its presence and initiatives on the international arena, in addition to furthering the Bank's international, political and strategic relationships on both regional and international levels at a time the Bank is witnessing a consistently increasing regional and international expansion.
Dabdoub explained that, in addition to former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Sir John Major, the IAB brings together a host of the most renowned and influential world figures in the various fields of business, economics, politics and academic strategies, studies and research in the Middle East as other parts of the world such as:
