- PRESS RELEASE
ADWC hosted an event for the internationally known jewelry designer Angelina Aytun Demiray on Wednesday, 20th February, on the ADWC campus.
Ms. Demiray is renowned for her use of classic stones such as diamonds, sapphires and rubies, and prestigious stones such as Paraiba which stands for power and happiness. During her visit to ADWC, Ms. Demiray showed examples of her work and spoke to the students about owning a jewelry design business. "You should start your designs with love and then work to become a professional," she explained. "From the outside this may look easy, but from the inside this is a very challenging business."
Rather than creating commercial pieces to be copied and sold hundreds of times, Ms. Demiray creates one-of-a-kind pieces for specific individuals. Ms. Demiray explained what inspires her and what she wants to accomplish with her designs. "Jewelry is unique and it should not be repeated 100 times. There is one lady who will appreciate a piece just as I do. I look for this one lady. This is my gift - to touch the feelings of one lady in the world."
Ms. Demiray's latest collection is called "Pearl" and was inspired by her fascination with the beauty of Abu Dhabi. The collection includes pieces which use only the most extraordinary pearls available. Ms. Demiray's collections will be on display in the Emirates Palace on Saturday, 23rd February.
