  • PRESS RELEASE

Datamatix is to host the 'GCC Sports Development Conference' to be held on May 12, 2008 in Dubai, UAE.

It will focus on the development of sports in the Arabian Gulf region and recommend ways to develop sport and sporting activities, administration and the over-all marketing efforts.

Introducing the event, Ali Al Kamali, Managing Director of Datamatix Group said, "Sport is an effective social catalyst for youth and a stimulus for social improvement. In the GCC, we very actively and enthusiastically support our favorite sports and teams, yet we lag behind much of the rest of the world in the development of our sports industry, as well as in the promotion of sporting activities as part of an active and healthy lifestyle."

He went on to say, "Development of the required infrastructure and proper planning and training are just few of the steps that need to be taken to propel our sport's industry to world class levels and prepare our youth to compete at an international level and become the champions of tomorrow. We recommend the GCC Sports Development Conference for anyone interested in this issue or in exploring the sports-related economic and business opportunities arising in the GCC."

The event will discuss the potential economic role of sports and highlight the various issues faced by sportspersons administrators, related businesses, and authorities in improving popular interest in sport and developing a professional sports culture.

A special emphasis will be placed on case studies covering efforts to improve the quality of regional sport.

Coaches, trainers, club owners, sports administrators, sporting bodies, sports facilities managers, event organizers and promoters, and the full range of organizations providing goods and services to both sporting and sports related activities are expected to attend this one day conference, which will also include a high profile awards program.
