Coordinated electronically between Thuraya and its distribution chain, the E-Voucher will facilitate a much faster supply and handling of prepaid cards which no longer need be traditional, physical cards requiring bureaucratic logistical deliver.
Thuraya, the world's leader in satellite hand-held service, is building a vast subscriber base in nearly 170 countries in Europe, Africa and Asia.
A large number of its customers are located in remote, rural areas. Hence, the introduction of E-Voucher next month is expected to significantly enhance access of Service Providers to Thuraya's prepaid cards, which will consequently guarantee subscribers' ability to refill their accounts and enjoy freedom of using Thuraya handhelds anywhere and anytime.
Following the introduction of E-Voucher, SPs will be able to electronically buy refill cards to top up their vendor machines which will be used at distribution points.
The E-Voucher will not replace the existing scratch cards, but will serve as an additional, enhanced method for use by SPs and subscribers.
"The E-Voucher is one of many initiatives we are taking to continuously enhance our service offerings to subscribers and achieve operational excellence with our commercial partners,"
said Thuraya CEO Mr Yousuf Al Sayed.
He also said as the Company enters the huge Asia-Pacifc market starting from next month, the E-Voucher is expected to play a pivotal role in facilitating a fast roll-out of Thuraya's mobile satellite handheld services.
"Thuraya has been leading the innovations in mobile satellite industry, and it will continue to come up with advanced solutions to make it easier for subscribers to use and enjoy a premium, uninterrupted service across the three continents of Europe, Africa and Asia," elaborated Mr. AlSayed.
Thuraya's prepaid scratch cards are currently used for refilling subscribers' accounts for mobile handheld service, maritime service and Public Calling Office.
