Mr. Turner met with the Minister of Transport, Eng. Ala'a Al Batayneh, Mrs. Maha Al Khateeb - The Minister of Tourism, and the CEO of Royal Jordanian Airlines Eng. Samer Al Majali, amongst others to discuss future opportunities of cooperation with bmi.
The meetings focused on methods of enhancing bmi's airline services to help develop aviation market in Jordan while emphasizing on the importance of improving commercial ties between all concerned parties, which in turn will reflect positively on the Jordanian tourism and aviation industries.
bmi places great importance on the comfort and satisfaction of its customers. During his flying visit to Amman Mr. Turner held a lunch meeting in order to communicate this message and emphasize the company's philosophy of providing the highest level of customer satisfaction with regards to their first class services. A press breakfast was also held for local media representatives.
Nigel Turner, chief executive officer of bmi, said:
"bmi is extremely enthusiastic about what it can bring to the Jordanian market. The former BMED routes that were integrated into the bmi network at the start of the winter timetable are performing extremely well and showing strong growth in passenger numbers and revenue generation. Their performance is a clear vindication of the sound strategic decision we made to invest in the acquisition of BMED to further develop our mid haul network at London Heathrow."
bmi is the only British airline which operates regular non-stop flights between Jordan and the UK on a daily basis. The company operates 170 daily flights to 44 destinations from its main base London-Heathrow airport.
