Westcon Middle East appoints Group Managing Director

Lockie will hold the role of Managing Director for Westcon Middle East Group a $100m revenue organisation, which incorporates Comstor Middle East and OnLine Distribution, both subsidiaries of Datatec, the leading international systems and ITC services company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange.

OnLine Distribution, which holds a leadership position in the Middle East's data networking products and services market, and Comstor have both entered accelerated development phases in recent months, and the appointment of Lockie add significant experience to its management team.

Lockie's new role will see OnLine Distribution increase its business operations with plans in place for channel partners and vendors to fully benefit from its first-class offerings in supply chain excellence and value distribution services.

Keith Rich, former Managing Director of OnLine Distribution, has been appointed Westcon Emerging Markets Director (Africa, Middle East and India) and will be based in Europe. He will continue his association and involvement with the Middle East in the new capacity of Chairman of Westcon Middle East Group.

Rich, who formed the origins of Online Distribution on behalf of its partners in 1993, has played a major role in driving the growth of the company into one of the most successful value added ITC distributors in the region.

Lockie first joined Datatec and Westcon Group Middle East's subsidiary, Comstor, in April 2007 to get the specialty distributor of Cisco solutions up and running in the Middle East region after over 15 years experience in value and volume distribution channels across Europe and the Middle East.
