The Award came as a recognition of Al Barrak's many achievements and unique vision which has allowed the group to witness exponential growth during the few past years and to occupy leading positions on both the regional and international scenes. For the occasion, Arab Ad organized a dinner in honor of Dr. Saad Al Barrak at the Phoenica Intercontinental Hotel, Beirut gathering the elite of advertising and communication figures as well as a large representation of ZAIN personnel.

The event featured a speech by Dr. Al Barrak in which he thanked Arab Ad and its General Manager and Editor in Chief Mr. Walid Azzi for this prestigious award, saying: "This is the most gratifying award I have received so far, and it will forever hold a special place in my heart". He added: "I am the last person to deserve this award; the ones who really deserve it are my brothers and sisters at ZAIN, who lead us forward and made ZAIN this great entity that today ranks fourth worldwide in terms of geographical reach. We should all take pride of this achievement in the Arab World".

On his part Walid Azzi noted that "it was Dr Al Barrak's braveness, foresight and determination in rebranding the MTC Group to Zain in September 2007, which has made a great regional impact. The launch and creativity of the Zain brand and its theme 'A Wonderful World' has greatly impressed the advertising and media industry, and made an enormous impact in the markets where Zain operates."

It is noteworthy that Dr. Barrak received many awards including Best CEO in the Middle East for the ICT sector by Datamatix in 2005 and two "lifetime Achievement" Awards, the first in 2006 during the Arab Economic Forum organized by "Al Iktissad wal Aamal" Group and the second in 2007 by COMMSMEA magazine.

On his philosophy in life, Dr. Barrak said: "be daring, be first, be different. It is only then, that you will be capable of moving the whole world!"
