IACAD to upgrade portal with Emirates Technology Company

The Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has signed up recently with Emirates Technology Company (Emitac) to develop IACAD's existing internet portal with e-services, supported by an intranet portal using Microsoft Technology.
An intranet portal is also required to improve departmental collaboration & operations.
The new web portal solution will be built on Microsoft SharePoint portal server 2007, with two main modules:
The 1st Module targets the external users through the public web portal, which aims to enhance communication among IACAD and external audience in terms of company information sections, interactive service including search and simple queries, and eServices such as registration for B2B & B2C services.
The 2nd Module is more focused on IACAD internal users and will provide employees with the following features: General Collaboration Features; Web Content publishing and Management; Request processing; Departmental Surveys; and Mosque Affairs Management.
Emirates Technology Company (Emitac) - a Microsoft Gold partner tied up with Avanza Solutions - a member of Emitac group and a technology partner to deliver an efficient yet cost-effective solution in line with IACAD's requirements.
Avanza Solutions is a software & services company having global presence. Its key areas of operation cover eBusiness, eBanking, eCRM, system integration and web portal development.

Speaking on the project and its importance to the organization, Dr. Hamad Bin Sheikh Al-Shebani - Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department - General Director stated that, this project is part of department strategic plan to develop electronic work and enhance performance of e-services and form partnerships with Emitac-a gold partner with Microsoft and benefit from its experiences to ensure proper application of Government of Dubai programs.
