Etisalat participates in Dubai International Rehabilitation Forum

Etisalat announced its support of the Dubai International Rehabilitation Forum - REHAB Dubai 2008, during a press conference in Dubai Club For Special Sports.

Etisalat's participation is an extension of the company's ongoing campaign to support people with special needs.

During the press conference, Mahra Al Tamimi, CSR Manager, Etisalat, said:

"Etisalat is committed to connect with the community at large and to offer services that help fulfill their potential. People with special needs have some different requirements that others within the community, as such, Etisalat has enhanced and developed technologies that will aid them in communicating with the community in an easier and more convenient manner."


Al Tamimi added: "Etisalat has signed many agreements with official companies and organizations in the aim to enhance technologies and services for people with special needs. The company launched 'Freedom Package' that identify many technologies and innovations from its current portfolio which are readily accessible by people with special needs and social service centers enabling them to participate and communicate fully with their friends and colleagues at discounted rates."

The Etisalat 'Freedom Package' includes services such as Push to Talk, Mobile MMS & SMS, fixd SMS , 3.5G Mobile Data, 3G Video/Voice Calls, and Location Based Services, BlackBerry, Push mail, Email Reader, Fixe-line, and Al Shamil broadband.

A second 'Freedom Package' is designed for qualified special need institutions which include services as 3.5G Mobile Data Packages, GSM Fax and data ,Push to Talk, BlackBerry, Web Fax, SMS Broadcasting, 800 toll free services, 500 Data services, Business One, Web Hosting, and ISDN.

In addition, Etisalat has continuously supported people with special needs and has demonstrated this by sponsoring events and activities such as Dubai Centre for Special Needs- Phone System, Holy Quran in Braille, People with special needs Centre, Wedding Ceremony for Special Needs People, Deaf Week, activation of special needs Federal Law No. 29 of 2006, Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre Fundraiser- Silver Jubilee Celebrations, and special need TV programmes (Mashaael Al Amal).

Etisalat's participation in REHAB 2008 falls within the path that the company follows towards the community it operates in.

It is finding a balance between its successful operations and finances and corporate responsibility.

Etisalat is one of the leading national companies in the country in this arena and was awarded by Arabian Business Magazine for its CSR initiatives in 2006 and by CEO Middle East Magazine in 2007.
