"The Qatari market is one of the fastest growing in the world at the moment," said a Mr. Mike Yates- JCB District Sales Manager Middle East, "and we wanted to get to know Mannai HED, our partners in Qatar, better. This was also a great opportunity to gather first hand market intelligence," he said, explaining the visit.

JCB is one of the world's top four manufacturers of heavy construction equipment.

With humble beginnings, starting out of a garage in 1945, today JCB produces more than 160 different models of machinery in some of the world's finest engineering factories across 5 continents.

Throughout the 6 decades that have seen JCB grow to the global business that it is today, the company has remained within the same family and is now run by the son of the original founder, Joseph Cyril Bamford.

According to JCB's website, the fact that the company is privately owned "means we have no stock market or partners to answer to, just our customers."

"JCB has a well deserved reputation around the world for producing first rate heavy equipment, and since we were looking for nothing but the best, we opted for JCB," said Mr. Ahmed Said - Heavy Equipment Division Manager. "The demand for construction equipment such as produced by JCB is growing quickly in Qatar, and we will undoubtedly expand our business with JCB in the months to come."

The visiting JCB delegation consisted of key personnel including Mr. Tim Burnhope, Deputy Managing Director of JCB Sales, Mr. Chris Spring, Director and General Manager of JCB Attachments and Mr. Chris Wright, the Worldwide Marketing Director.

Attendees from JCB's regional offices included Mr. Patrick Massardy, Director of Overseas Regions, Mr. Dan Thompstone, Regional Manager (MEA) and Mr. Mike Yates, Regional Manager for Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The delegation met with key executives from Mannai Heavy Equipment Division to discuss future plans and "take the two companies' business relationship to the next level."

With the construction industry in Qatar in overdrive, demand for construction equipment such as that supplied by JCB and imported by Mannai HED is at an all time high, and is likely to remain there for some time to come.

"There is certainly ample opportunity for us to increase our collaboration with JCB in the near future," said Mr. Said. "They produce fine equipment that is in great demand in Qatar, and Mannai HED has the local knowledge and contacts to help them market it in the country."
