The digital camera, less than 10 mm thick, features a bright 3" LCD display, prism type 3x optical zoom lens, Face-Tracking and Super Shake-Free mode.

The portable media player function also allows consumers to watch video and listen to MP3s, and is an ideal travel partner for children and adults.

Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ, Middle East & Africa said:

"With the sporty elegance of a high-end sports car, the new, streamline BenQ DSC X800 marries performance, style and aesthetics. The result is an 8 MP digital camera that not only helps consumers capture their lifestyle, but reflects it as well".

The 3x optical zoom lens is housed entirely in the camera body, making the thinnest design possible.

When zooming in on an image, all of the lens' movement takes place inside the camera, which means consumers can enjoy shirt pocket ease of access without a reduction in photo quality.

To ensure that all the movement is in the video component of the camera, the BenQ DSC X800 is equipped with a unique S.S.F. (Super Shake Free) shooting mode.

If consumers are bumped or jostled while taking a picture, the S.S.F. mode will help compensate for this and eliminate unwanted blurs.

The BenQ DSC X800 also features an Auto Face Tracking Function that can auto-focus on up to nine faces.

Equipped with Z-Lighting and Wize Zoom, the BenQ DSC X800 ensures high-quality pictures in the dark and at a distance.

With patented Z-lighting, users can adjust the lighting and the balance of their photo in playback mode. Wise Zoom provides consumers with a 30x zoom effect in VGA size when focusing in on a certain area at a distance.

The BenQ DSC X800 also supports both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios, allowing consumers to share their pictures on a variety of different devices.

With a variety of built-in shooting modes, the BenQ DSC X800 allows consumers to capture memories quickly and easily.

Consumers can also enjoy their favourite MPEG-4 videos, listen to their favourite tunes with the accompanying ear-phones offering high quality audio, and record their favourite memories, all with the BenQ DSC X800.

The built-in MPEG-4 format, records 30 frames per second at 640 x 480 VGA resolution for a smooth video/audio stream.

Furthermore, the BenQ DSC X800 is designed to work perfectly even in darkly-lit environments with support of a high sensitivity up to ISO 4000 so that pictures are captured in their natural lighting and without flash bulbs.

"With regard to digital technologies, BenQ is unquestionably an industry leader in applied innovation. We've shed 1/3 the thickness and still delivered an 8 MP digital camera with a 3" screen, 3x optical zoom lens, Face Tracking and Super Shake-Free modes, an MP3 player, patented Z lighting, and Wise Zoom," concluded Bakshi. "I guess this proves the old adage: sometimes the best things come in very small packages."
