Dubai Industrial City to house at least 300,000

Dubai Industrial City, sited next to the new airport, will house between 300,000 and 500,000 people once it is completed in 2015. Using 55km squared of land, the mixed use site, some 430 companies are setting up in the city. Although not a free zone, and so requiring that a local partner owns 51% of the business, Rashed Al Ansari, CEO of DIC, said many international companies planned to set up in the city. One factory has started production, he said, with others under construction.
