  • PRESS RELEASE

du is a participation and sponsor of the 7th Training and Recruitment Week at Al Ain scheduled to be held from the 24-26 March 2008.

The key drivers towards the growth and advancement of a nation stem from developing proficient human capital and national talents.

Consequently, UAE visionary leaders have developed an Emiratization strategy that aims to develop and empower competent national talents. Going in line with the UAE government strategic goals supporting Emiratization has been a cornerstone for du (Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company PJSC) ever since its inception.

On this occasion we would like to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research for holding the 7th Training and Recruitment Week at Al Ain under his patronage and his continuous endeavor to support Emiratization in the UAE. We would also like to thank the higher commission; the organizing body of the event represented by Ali Abdullah Maged Al Maraghy, Assistant Dean of Students Services at United Arab Emirates University. Furthermore we would like to thank Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and UAE University for the enormous efforts put behind organizing the Training and Recruitment Week and for presenting to us the opportunity to sponsor it.

The event is aligned with our ongoing commitment towards achieving the UAE's strategic goals of providing training and employment opportunities to nationals.

Qualified human resources are the key pillars for du's success. We are proud to have achieved an Emiratization level of 22% out of which 40% are at the senior management level. Being a new and growing national company, we continuously have vacant job openings. We are committed to the development of the UAE community and this year we aim to hire 1000 new staff with first priority given to UAE nationals.

A dedicated business department has been set up at du to implement the company's Emiraitzation strategy in addition to facilitating all the necessary tools to empower and develop the expertise of our Emirati employees and assist them to achieve the professional advancement they are seeking. du has also ensured that 'Masar' program for developing and recruiting UAE nationals (holding high school and college degrees) is the main pillar for the Emiratization process in the company.

Since our launch, we have supported and participated in all special activities that aim to achieve the Emiratization strategy of the country by taking part in all Career Fairs across the UAE. This is in addition to regular open employment days to communicate with high school and college graduates and update them on available employment opportunities said Jamal Khalifa Lootah, du, Director of Emiratization and National Resources Development, speech at the press conference.
