Aldar to touch down in Berlin

Aldar, the renowned Abu Dhabi-based international property developer, will showcase YAS Island, its mega tourism destination development at the forthcoming International Tourism Exchange Berlin (ITB) in Berlin, Germany.

ITB Berlin is the premier business-to-business platform for the travel industry. Almost 10,923 companies exhibited at ITB 2007 spanning over 184 countries and representing every sector of the tourism industry. The total number of visitors exceeded 175,000 in a huge exhibition space of over 160,000 square meters.

YAS Island is an integral part of this collection and that is why we chose this exhibition to showcase its many attractions and projects."

To be showcased at ITB is the YAS Island project, a sizeable island located off the city of Abu Dhabi, the national capital of the United Arab Emirates. It will be the only place in the world that unites the traditions of Arabia with the allure luxury destinations. It will be the world's most complete leisure destination occupying a total land area of 2,500 hectares.

In addition to the world's first and only Ferrari theme park, YAS Island will also be home to a Warner Bros theme park and a world class Formula One racetrack, which will be hosting the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix commencing in 2009. Other attractions will include a state-of-the-art Water Park, the first Links golf course in the UAE built to championship standard, and a 260,000 square metre retail mall. With luxury hotels, beautiful water front features and beaches, commercial offices, and spas; YAS Island is set to become a unique international tourist attraction.

Aldar will also highlight its Hotels and Hospitality division which is poised to play a major role in the development of Abu Dhabi's hotel and hospitality sectors. Aldar has already signed agreements with internationally renowned hotel groups ACCOR SA, Movenpick, Ritz Carlton and Oberoi, as well as teaming up with Middle Eastern brands such as Rotana.

The exhibition runs from the 5th to the 9th of March.
