- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 04 - 2008 at 15:33
- PRESS RELEASE
ADIC (Abu Dhabi Investment Company) takes part in the Private Equity International Middle East Forum 2008, the largest and most important gathering for private equity professionals in the region, to capitalize on its activities in the in private equity investments since 1994 and further optimize its opportunities in the investment world.
Through a workshop hosted by ADIC's Private Equity Group, participants will discuss overcoming transactional obstacles and doing deals in the region: selection of case studies on overcoming transactional obstacles from difficulties uncovered in due diligence to efficient tax structuring, control buyouts versus minority investments and cross border transactions.
ADIC's Private Equity Group focuses on two complimentary activities, namely direct major investments in operating companies with significant presence in the MENA region, and fund investment in top tier globally diversified private equity funds.
Since 1994, ADIC has invested its proprietary funds in direct private equity transactions, primarily in the MENA region, achieving successful results under
varied market conditions in a variety of investment types, including IPOs / Pre IPOs, Founders' Shares / Start-ups, Majority and Significant Minority Stakes, Greenfield & Development and Co-investments with global top tier private equity GPs.
Although ADIC's Private Equity Group continues to see many attractive opportunities across a range of investment types, it focuses its efforts currently on majority buyouts within the MENA region.
ADIC has also built a well-diversified, high quality portfolio of over 40 top tier Private Equity funds, globally spread since 2002, including buyout, mezzanine, distressed and secondary funds, and has strongly performed since inception, making new fund investments only when consistent with portfolio construction guidelines and after extensive due diligence on the fund managers.
ADIC Private Equity regards the greater MENA region (Middle East/North Africa plus Turkey and Pakistan) as one of the key emerging markets globally with high growth.
This is driven by large GDP growth driven by the non-oil sectors, large population base and growth, stable political environment leading to good macroeconomic conditions, in addition to government privatization initiatives and infrastructure development, strong investor appetite creating a favorable investment environment, and large capital inflows and FDI.
