The appreciate of the yen against the dirham has resulted in a corresponding jump in prices of Toyota and Lexus cars in the UAE, but it has not impacted their sales volumes, reported Khaleej Times. Simon Frith, Managing Director of Al-Futtaim Motors, the exclusive distributor for Lexus in the UAE, said Lexus sales rose 68% in the UAE 2007, a year which saw the launch of the LS 460 sedan. Speaking at the launch of the new LX570, the Lexus flagship SUV, Tony Barlow, Senior General Manager of Sales & Marketing, said the UAE is the largest market for large luxury SUVs in the GCC.
