E-Vision is currently working with select partners on trials for 'Video on demand' which will be introduced in the country by the fourth quarter of this year.

E-Vision will be demonstrating Video on demand (VOD) systems which will allow users to select and watch video and clip content over a network as part of an interactive television system. The VOD systems will allow users to 'stream' content, allowing viewing in real time. Thus viewers can select a movie or television program to begin playing it on the television set almost instantaneously.

E-Vision customers will benefit from the VOD services through a very intuitive and user friendly interface. Customers will also enjoy innovative applications related to Real Time VOD such as Catch Up TV and Start Over TV which will allow users to watch programmes that they might have missed.

According to Humaid Rashid Sahoo, CEO, E-Vision,

'E-Vision is responding to meet viewer needs in an increasingly on-demand world and the introduction of the 'Video on Demand' technology is an extension of our drive to meet such customer expectations. This reflects our commitment to explore the best technologies possible to benefit our customers and provide them with an outstanding television experience be it in content or technology.'

Users will have the option to select a VOD package on a 'Transaction' basis where they will be able to purchase one single programme/event.
