Commenting on the importance of participation in these types of career fairs, Asem Al Ali, Human Resources Manager for Dubai Bank, said, "The banking sector is one of the country's most important economic drivers, and a hallmark of the nation's development. Emiratisation of the banking sector may be one of the most critical factors in the UAE's future economic growth, and reflects the need for more Emiratis in the workforce."

"Dubai Bank's Emiratisation drive is two-pronged," added Mr. Al Ali. "The first is based on increasing the number of UAE nationals working at Dubai Bank, and continuing to encourage more Emiratis to consider following careers in banking, as well as developing their abilities through a planned career path consisting of extensive training courses, designed to enhance their professional qualifications and preparing them for a steady rise in corporate ranks."

"The second aspect of our programme is through the Ruwaad trainee programme for new UAE national graduates, which places the selected graduates in areas where they receive comprehensive training for one year, including on-the-job training in various departments and branches of the bank to prepare them for working in the UAE's banking sector," he continued.

An important part of Dubai Bank's Emiratisation strategy is to participate in the various career fairs held throughout the UAE in order to educate students regarding the opportunities within the banking sector, which are not limited to finance, but also include positions in human resources, IT and administration. Many students have never considered the potential for employment within the world of finance if they themselves will not be studying banking- or finance-related degrees, and this is one of the perceptions that Dubai Bank will be challenging at the fair.

Dubai Bank is an ethical and Shari'a-compliant Dubai-based bank with branches throughout the UAE. Over the past year, the bank has released a number of new products and opened a total of ten new branches, and are thus particularly aware of what it is that they are looking for in potential employees.
